We know the power of good food to connect people – and few things are sweeter than pure New Zealand honey. At Midlands Apiaries, we produce high-quality honey for local and international markets. We're now looking for a hands-on Honey Processing Specialist to join our Operations team in Ashburton.
About the Role
In this full-time, permanent role, you’ll be responsible for the daily operations of our honey processing facility – including heating, creaming, blending, and ensuring strict food safety compliance. You'll also oversee production schedules, maintain equipment standards, and play a key role in upholding our commitment to quality.
This role suits someone with experience in food production who enjoys leading from the front and thrives in a tidy, well-run processing environment.
What you’ll be doing:
Preparing, blending, and processing honey for retail and bulk packaging
Operating and maintaining processing equipment
Conducting routine quality and compliance checks
Supporting team members in the production area and communicating effectively with other departments
Maintaining documentation and records for traceability and audits
Applying food safety and lean manufacturing principles
What you’ll bring:
Passion for excellence
Experience in a production or manufacturing environment (food industry preferred)
High attention to detail and a strong work ethic
Forklift licence and Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Good computer skills and accurate record-keeping
Strong level of physical fitness
