About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance

The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028.

The Opportunity

We have an excellent opportunity for a TTM Planner to design and define Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) control specifications to support safe and efficient delivery of TTM operations.

As TTM Planner, you will play a key role in supporting our TTM planning function. You will work closely with our operational teams, designers, and engineers to make tangible improvements and conduct risk-based assessments in the Traffic Management Plan (TMP) design space.

Flexibility is a must and ability to effectively manage your own time is a must, as one day you may be in the office and the next you will be out on site to see TMPs in action.

What you will be doing:

You will have a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Consulting, specifying, and scoping TTM design criteria to efficiently deliver jobs, documenting risk assessments, and balancing job needs, efficiency, and public safety.
  • Collaborating with teams for data support and managing Road Controlling Authorities' expectations to ensure TMP design approvals.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end design workflow from project handover to final delivery while ensuring TMPs and breach designs meet quality requirements.
  • Conducting regular site visits to enhance understanding of designs, documenting risk assessment processes, and briefing complex plans to stakeholders.
  • Explaining complex TMPs and work plans to teams, continuously improving ASM TTM design best practices in collaboration with the ASM TTM approver.
  • Providing technical guidance, support, and mentorship to TMP Designers, reviewing and actioning feedback, and incorporating necessary revisions.
  • Assisting the TTM resourcing coordinator with scoping design installations and resource allocation.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Tertiary qualification or relevant proof of industry knowledge.
  • TTMP-P or Equivalent Competency advantageous.
  • 5+ years TTM Planning experience.
  • 5+ years TTM Practical experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Full Class 1 license.
  • Excellent computer literacy.

Above all, you will have in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of TTM with the ability to adapt with evolving best practices, with a focus on maintaining the safety of staff and the moving public.
