About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance

The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) Operations Supervisor to support our day and night shift TTM operations on the Auckland motorway network. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference on a large-scale road maintenance contract.

This is a permanent full-time night shift position working Sunday to Thursday between the hours of 6:00PM to 6:00AM. Flexibility is a must as day shift hours will be required from time to time to fully meet the requirements of this position.

What you will be doing:

As Operations Supervisor, you will support both internal staff and subcontractors to deliver works safely and efficiently. You will mentor the Foreman, assisting them in leading the coordination of onsite TTM activities, facilitating positive team engagement and ensuring the timely deployment of TTM solutions.

You will have a variety of other responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Effectively solving issues including work delays, emergencies and staff concerns.
  • Promoting a positive health and safety culture within the team.
  • Investigating all incidents, breaches, near misses and non-compliance, setting corrective actions for the Foreman.
  • Accountability for TTM Quality Assurance Audits to uphold operational standards.
  • Reviewing Daily Closure Reports to ensure work is completed in line with timelines.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the delivery of TTM works by optimising resource usage and maximising work windows.
  • Conducting performance reviews with employees.
  • Managing the scheduling of plant and equipment.
  • Payroll administration tasks.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • NZQA Level 5 or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar leadership role.
  • Knowledge of the Auckland motorway network.
  • A minimum of 4 years of Traffic Management (TTM) experience on local roads, both rural and urban, including high and low-speed environments.
  • Practicing STM certification in categories A/B/C.
  • Demonstrated ability to train on-site to maintain a high standard of traffic management.
  • Class 2 driver's license and WTR endorsement are desirable.
  • Competent to operate trailers.
  • Strong time management skills.
