A unique and pivotal role, this new opportunity will ensure the MAS investments business and products, including KiwiSaver, maintain regulatory compliance. Taking responsibility for a range of monitoring, analysing, and reporting activities, you will be ensuring adherence to applicable financial regulations and requirements of the Financial Markets Conduct Act, and meeting and maintaining Managed Investment Scheme licence standards and conditions. You will work with and learn from a team of highly experienced investment professionals, and input into product management and risk management initiatives.

What a Day Might Look Like
- Engage with external investment managers, administrators and custodians on compliance related topics as required.
- Work with the Investment Products team to ensure managed funds and marketing initiatives adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all internal stakeholders are kept informed of progress and provide timely notification of any potential for delay on activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including legal and risk, to ensure regulatory requirements are met and filed within deadlines.
- Ensure overall compliance with legislation, regulations, Managed Investment Scheme licence conditions and MAS organisational policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Liaise with external supervisors and regulators on reporting, thematic reviews, and current matters arising.
- Identify and mitigate compliance risks related to investment activities, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures to align with regulatory changes.
- High level of accuracy in producing and reviewing reporting to external regulators, supervisors and Members.
- Strong communication skills - ability to clearly articulate where change is needed and why, and ensure all parties understand and adhere to deadlines.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills. Ability to meet hard deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of excel.
- Excellent eye for detail. Critically assess and review your own and others work to ensure accuracy.
- An understanding of Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism legislation and monitoring requirements.
- 3-5 years work in a regulatory compliance, investment management or audit role, particularly managed investment schemes related.
- Knowledge of reporting and data analysis tools such as PowerBI, ability to automate reporting.
