As a member of our global team of risk consultants and engineers, you will play a key role in supporting new business initiatives and delivering risk financing advisory engagements alongside our natural catastrophe modelling and climate risk experts. You will apply a curious and innovative mindset to develop bespoke risk solutions that address emerging risks. Working closely with the Head of Risk Advisory, NZ, you will leverage our actuarial model-based insurance optimization tools to provide clear, actionable insights and advice to colleagues, corporate clients, and government-associated clients across the Pacific region. This role also offers opportunities to develop your consulting, business development, and project leadership skills within a collaborative, high-performing team.
The Role
- Support the Head of Risk Advisory, NZ to deliver on risk financing advisory engagements through a consulting style including preparation and scoping of consulting engagements
- Assist in facilitating risk workshops, performing financial analysis and developing techniques to assist clients understand and quantify their overall risk exposure
- Support colleagues across the wider Risk & Analytics team in the Pacific to deliver natural catastrophe modelling and climate risk support services.
- Support new business initiatives and collaborate with various departments.
- Utilise actuarial model-based insurance optimization tools to provide insights and solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong client-facing communication skills including written reports, workshops and online channels.
- Prepare and present results and recommendations in clear, actionable language.
- Demonstrate experience in understanding the risk financing process for strategic and emerging risks across all sectors of clients
- Exhibit excellent PowerPoint skills including use of AI for content creation and to create workflow efficiencies.
- Work effectively as part of a team to deliver high-quality services to clients on time.
- Develop innovative and bespoke risk consulting solutions and models for clients.
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working as a consultant advising on natural catastrophe and emerging risks, with a strong understanding of risk concepts.
- A naturally curious mindset with the ability to think creatively and outside the box to develop innovative risk consulting solutions.
- Strong client-facing communication skills, including the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, simple, and actionable language.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to client sites as needed to meet client demands.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English, with excellent presentation skills including strong PowerPoint capability and attention to detail.
- A committed team player who consistently delivers high-quality services on time.
- Eagerness to support business development and enhance client engagement capabilities.
