The Role

This Financial Accountant role is an integral member of our Finance team and the wider business.

Reporting into the Senior Financial Accountant, you will be primarily responsible for the delivery of timely, accurate, and meaningful information and reporting to Management to support informed business decisions.

Key responsibilities will include participating in the monthly reporting process, managing critical commodity hedge positions, NZ market lead for business tax obligations, supporting the annual audit processes, and championing robust cashflow and balance sheet management. As a key liaison for our Shared Services division and the finance business partner to our Capital and Maintenance teams, you'll play a critical role in delivering insightful analytics, strategic recommendations, and impactful reporting.


About You

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven Financial Accountant who enjoys understanding the technical aspects of their business partnerships.

You will be a registered Chartered Accountant or have a tertiary qualification in commerce, business, and/or accounting, with extensive experience in a large, complex, and preferably FMCG manufacturing organisation with commodities exposure.

You will have high adaptability and flexibility while working within the requirements of good accounting practices. You will want to not just be focused on numbers but be curious about the systems and processes behind them, you will have a keen eye for process improvement, automation, and optimization of our shared service initiatives.

You love work that provides variety and true collaboration, participating and contributing to key strategic projects and providing support and information for the Capital and Maintenance teams, including DCF, ROI, and investment analysis and recommendations.

We’re after someone looking to further their Financial Accountant development with a view to future leadership responsibilities either internally at NZ Sugar or within our wider Wilmar network.
