Are you an experienced surfacing project manager with a strong background in reseal contract management and team leadership, with a passion for getting the job done and getting the job done right? Based in Rotorua, and due to an ever-growing workload, we are looking for a keen Project Manager to join our Bay of Plenty Surfacing team to lead our teams on the ground and manage delivery various first coat and reseal contracts throughout the Central North Island.

The purpose of this position is to plan, co-ordinate and implement the chipseal and surfacing projects within the Surfacing Northern Business Unit. Based in Rotorua, this role assists the Central Surfacing Manager to ensure the delivery of chipseal surfacing works throughout the Bay of Plenty and Waikato Regions. This includes arranging all, plant, materials, labour resources and sub-contractors. You will have ownership of projects from initiating potential works, building existing client relationships, estimation, delivery, claiming, EOM reporting, delivering margin


This is a full-time position that requires some occasional weekend, night work and stay away periods.


About you:


Experience leading end-to-end delivery of Private and Public Resealing and First Coat contract works

Act as the contractor's representative, maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships

Ensure safety, quality, budget, and programme outcomes are achieved

Oversee site-based teams and subcontractors, with a focus on physical delivery

Provide technical and commercial leadership across projects

Drive performance, innovation, and collaboration across all delivery phases

What You'll Bring


Minimum Class 1 license, Class 2 and RTW endorsements advantageous but not essential

In-depth knowledge of aggregates and bitumen + emulsion chip seals with a technical understanding of these materials and their applications would be advantageous

A strong focus on health and safety practises along with onsite team leadership

Must be a team player, with a positive can-do attitude and strong communication skills

Must be self-motivated and driven to succeed
