The Business Support Lead will coordinate operations for the General Manager - Farming & Forestry, providing administration, communication, and stakeholder engagement. This role supports the sustainable management of farming practices, contributing to the growth and protection of tribal assets for future generations.

The Business Support Lead will coordinate operations for the General Manager - Farming & Forestry, providing administration, communication, and stakeholder engagement. This role supports the sustainable management of farming practices, contributing to the growth and protection of tribal assets for future generations.
Key Responsibilities - Ngā Kawenga Takohanga
- Executive Support: Manage workflow, diary, correspondence, and travel for the GM and Lead team. Assist with projects, events, and high-level executive support. Manage electronic files and folder permissions. Support reporting and KPI tracking.
- Continuous Improvement: Oversee activities for operational improvement. Implement improved systems and processes. Identify and implement workflow improvements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with key stakeholders. Coordinate hui and field trips. Model leadership and cultural values. Encourage cultural confidence and professional development.
- Communication: Support internal communications. Assist or lead as required to develop communication, marketing, and PR strategies. Manage social media and app postings. Strengthen and protect NTF's brand.
- Health & Safety: Comply with health and safety policies. Report accidents and incidents. Identify hazards and develop controls.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required. Travel as needed. Support kaimahi onboarding/offboarding, catering, annual diary, and stationary.
- 5 years' experience in similar roles.
- Strong communication and engagement skills.
- Experience in an Iwi or Māori organisation is desirable.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Initiative and responsibility for organisational goals.
- Organised and able to meet deadlines.
- Proactive and productive with diverse groups.
- Advanced user of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Understanding of, or eagerness to learn Ngāi Tahu values, tikanga, and te reo Māori.
- Awareness of Ngāi Tahu Whānui needs and aspirations.
- Openness to learning and embracing a bi-cultural environment.
- Internal: General Manager - Farming & Forestry, Lead Team, Ngāi Tahu Farming & Forestry kaimahi.
- External: Ngāi Tahu Whānui, Papatipu Rūnanga Mana Whenua Working Groups, Professional Advisors and Suppliers, Ngāi Tahu Holdings Functional teams, Te Rūnanga Group employees, Relevant professional bodies.
