Expression of Interest: Senior Design Managers – Major Projects Transport - New Zealand

Fantastic opportunities in Major Projects Transport to work on some of New Zealand's key infrastructure projects.

Lead design in key projects ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality. Maintain active involvement in project delivery to support utilisation targets. Review the quality of deliverables and alignment of disciplines into a cohesive package (with no gaps/conflicts). Determine/assess constructability and readability of drawings, to minimise interpretation conflict during construction. Lead programme management of disciplines.

These roles offer the technical design review element as well as enabling you to take a lead position in the delivery of strategic infrastructure projects from design through to construction phase.

WSP is working on a number of major infrastructure projects including the Roads of National Significance (RoNS) and Roads of Regional Significance (RoRS) across New Zealand such as:
  • Northern Corridor
  • O2NL
  • C2P
  • Tauriko
  • Hawkes Bay Expressway
  • Mt Vic Tunnel
  • Additional Waitemata Harbour Connections
  • TREC
Whilst also positioning for a number of other exciting Design and Construction opportunities coming to market over the coming months.

About you:
  • Min. 10-15 years’ professional experience within the field of transportation infrastructure design delivery, and/or experience as Designer’s Lead during construction phase services.
  • Proven ability and track record in managing multidisciplinary projects through the full spectrum of the project life cycle and delivering according to quality, time and budget requirements.
  • Demonstrated delivery within a collaborative contracting environment (e.g. D&C, ECI, NOC, Alliance, etc)
  • Experience in establishing complex systems for multi-disciplinary files/records, documents, data control, legal and driving compliance to business systems.
  • Experience in the resourcing and managing a wide range of professional disciplines and subcontractors on a complex project.
  • Extensive expertise in managing large scale project budgets with substantial work breakdown structures.
  • Previous experience managing complex changes on large scale projects.
  • Extensive experience in writing quality and credible complex reports and documents.
