Our client is on the lookout for a proactive and talented Maintenance Technician to join a fast-paced team at a large site in Wellington. What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be hands-on with the latest sorting machinery, ensuring peak performance across the site. Working alongside a collaborative Engineering Services Team, you'll diagnose issues, carry out essential repairs, and help drive continuous improvements. Your insights and skills will directly impact operational efficiency and reliability.

  • Perform all tasks safely and in line with company procedures
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance efficiently and to schedule
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues quickly and cost-effectively
  • Monitor and manage stock levels for spare parts
  • Be an active, solutions-focused team member, contributing to overall business imprvements
  • Identify trends and propose enhancements to machine performance
  • Foster strong working relationships and communication skills across departments

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone with a solid background in maintenance and troubleshooting, backed by relevant qualifications. You love solving complex problems, and can communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

  • EWRB registration as a service technician, EST A/B, or a mechanical qualification with practical experience
  • Hands-on experience with material handling systems, motors, conveyor belts (this is a MUST), and bearings
  • Sharp diagnostic and problem-solving skills under pressure
  • A basic mechanical or electrical aptitude
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communicator and able to work cross functionally
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, control, and mechanical diagrams
