Lead the technical and project delivery of Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (E,I&C) engineering design projects across a wide range of clients, industries and types of work throughout New Zealand and further abroad. You will have broad scope and variety, working across industries including heavy industry, food and life science, and three waters.
You will be working with a team of over 250 engineers and industry experts passionate about the positive impact they have through the projects they deliver. This role provides career development opportunities through the variety of client sectors you will be working across in the Industrial market as well as the different project types you will have exposure to. Requirements
The key focus areas of this role will be applying your technical E,I&C expertise as well as understanding site and client requirements, to deliver design, verification and managing client relationships. Each day will present a new challenge, with key role elements including:
- Lead projects through from bid stage to design and construction
- Leverage Beca’s technical specialists and multidisciplined workforce as well as apply your own expertise to apply the best solution for the client
- Participate in a mix of job delivery, proposal preparation, work planning and financial management together with client relationship management
- Provide client leadership and technical direction in a range of projects and markets
- Provide leadership support and mentorship to our Southern Industrial team
- Network, develop and grow relationships with clients and the wider Beca business
- Travel to meet with clients at their manufacturing sites
This role will be based in Beca’s Christchurch office within our Industrial team of diverse and passionate engineers and project delivery professionals. You will be part of a close-knit team who showcase our values of enjoyment, partnership, care and tenacity!

To be successful in this role, you will be applying your technical E,I&C experience through working on projects for heavy industrial, food and beverage processing facilities, Three Waters facilities and other related industrial sites. You will be an Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineer looking to make a difference with a passion for project delivery excellence. You love to learn, be pragmatic, share knowledge and are someone who can bring a fresh perspective. You will also have an enquiring mind and be able to problem-solve and think laterally. You are a qualified Engineer with passion and good problem-solving skills. You will have experience and understand the detailed design process, as well as being able to understand how designs and solutions impact the end result. Experience working on site building relationships with operational teams and understanding the related challenges in the field, will be an advantage.
