This is a dual accountability position, providing leadership of the payroll team whilst also fulfilling Senior Payroll Officer payroll processing responsibilities. The role ensures efficient, accurate and timely payroll services, and the key responsibilities are as follows:

To be suitable in this role, you will be a people person who is technically savvy with a strong customer service approach. You will ideally have experience in a team leadership capacity, however if you demonstrate the right behavioural characteristics and attributes the client will consider people looking for their first leadership role. About The Role
This is a dual accountability position, providing leadership of the payroll team whilst also fulfilling Senior Payroll Officer payroll processing responsibilities. The role ensures efficient, accurate and timely payroll services, and the key responsibilities are as follows:
- Manage team operations, overseeing a small team, and taking a high-level view in planning and coordinating activities and actively engaging in continuous improvement opportunities and leading projects.
- Processing of fortnightly payroll, including the preparation, processing, and reconciliation of fortnightly payroll.
- Assist with the payroll audit and end of year tax processing.
- Maintain strong and effective stakeholder relationships with management, customers, and your team.
- Support the team through a systems change process, ironing out and embedding new processes after go-live, and supporting customers through change process.
Skills
To be suitable in this role, you will be a people person who is technically savvy with a strong customer service approach. You will ideally have experience in a team leadership capacity, however if you demonstrate the right behavioural characteristics and attributes the client will consider people looking for their first leadership role. Beyond this, you will also possess the following skills:
- Experience on a complex payroll function in a team paying a minimum 800 staff.
- A deep understanding of payroll legislation.
- Someone who thrives in change environments, and has a proactive approach to change management.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A deep understanding of payroll legislation.
- Proficiency with Excel
