Senior Planner
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our Planning and Engagement team based in Auckland and contribute to the success of WSP’s national Planning and Engagement business. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers and environmental specialists, to provide technical advice and deliver integrated planning solutions for leading infrastructure projects.
As an experienced planner, you will lead and contribute to the delivery of various planning strategies and solutions for some of New Zealand’s most significant infrastructure developments. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior planners, supporting their career growth and development.
This role is ideal for someone with a consultancy background, preferably with previous experience in delivering planning outcomes for infrastructure projects that is looking for career leading opportunities.

About You
- Relevant tertiary qualification in planning, urban development, or a related field (geography or science).
- 5-10+ years professional experience.
- Strong understanding of the RMA and local planning frameworks.
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment.
- Experience in infrastructure consenting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ability to problem solve, and approach projects with a strategic mindset.
- Membership with the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI) is preferable.
