We are seeking a passionate, reflective, and culturally responsive Research Active Senior Lecturer to teach on our Graduate Certificate in Health (Level 7) programme with expertise in Community Health, Addiction or Mental Health. This is your opportunity to contribute to the development of future health professionals while engaging in a dynamic and supportive academic environment committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Ao Māori, and Pasifika values.

As a lecturer in this learner-centred, inquiry-based programme, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, inquiry-based teaching to diverse learners in healthcare
  • Promote independent, culturally competent, and reflective learning practices
  • Design, develop, assess, moderate and review assessments aligned with NZQA standards
  • Foster learner capability in cultural intelligence, communication, and teamwork
  • Actively engage in research and contribute to professional development and scholarship
  • Participate and contribute to curriculum development
  • Collaborate with local iwi, health organisations, and guest experts to enrich learning

Ko koe tēnei | About you

You Are An Academic Or Industry Professional With

  • A PhD or Masters in in Healthcare in Mental Health, Addiction, or Community Health
  • Active involvement in research, ideally in Mental Health, Addiction, or Community Health
  • Experience in teaching or facilitating adult learning in tertiary or health-related settings at Level 7 and higher
  • Possess the Diploma (Level 6) or NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or willing to work towards one
  • Previous experience developing Health programmes and creating assessments
  • An understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, te reo me ngā tikanga Māori
  • Strong digital literacy, including familiarity with Canvas LMS and MS Teams for blended/online delivery.
