We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer to join the high preforming team working at the Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant.
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across all phases of the project. You’ll work closely with project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to uphold compliance and drive continuous improvement.

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across all phases of the project. You’ll work closely with project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to uphold compliance and drive continuous improvement.
About The Role
- Champion quality management practices across the project lifecycle and promote awareness among all employees.
- Define and enforce quality requirements for suppliers and subcontractors, integrating them into contract documents.
- Develop and manage the project audit schedule in alignment with Business Unit (BU) Quality and Audit Managers.
- Conduct audits in accordance with the project schedule and prepare clear, actionable reports.
- Establish, plan, and oversee inspection and testing protocols for materials, equipment, and site activities, both on- and off-site.
- Evaluate inspection and test results to verify compliance with project and regulatory standards.
- Ensure timely submission of all inspection and test reports to clients for review and acceptance.
- Monitor and report non-conformance issues, lead root cause analysis, and track corrective actions to closure.
- Support project handover and close-out by compiling comprehensive quality documentation.
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across projects.
- Proven experience applying quality management systems in the construction industry, ideally in complex infrastructure or building projects.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering or quality management.
- Strong communication skills, able to engage confidently with both site teams and clients.
- Proficient with digital tools and quality management software, working knowledge of broader construction software platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations and preparing detailed quality incident reports.
- Familiarity with risk assessment processes and audit methodologies.
- Practical understanding of ISO 9001 and its application on large-scale projects.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical systems is highly desirable.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a high level of attention to detail.
