We are seeking a proactive, visionary, and experienced leader to step into the role of Associate Head of School – Health. This is a pivotal position that ensures the continued academic excellence, operational effectiveness and strategic growth of Higher Education in Health programmes at NZSE College

As the Associate Head of School – Health, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the school by driving academic quality, fostering student success, and providing inspirational leadership to our staff.
You will be responsible for the oversight and development of Health programmes, ensuring they meet the highest standards of educational quality, student outcomes, and industry relevance.
You will also work closely with tutors, lecturers and the Group Academic Director to create an innovative and inclusive learning environment.

You will be responsible for the oversight and development of Health programmes, ensuring they meet the highest standards of educational quality, student outcomes, and industry relevance.
You will also work closely with tutors, lecturers and the Group Academic Director to create an innovative and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold the values of NZSEG kaupapa by fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Provide academic leadership and operational management of the Health School's programmes and staff
- Oversee the design, development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum
- Drive continuous improvement through regular self-assessment, evaluation, external and internal moderation and programme reviews
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of academic reporting, including NZQA monitoring and academic reports
- Work with the Group Academic Director to develop strategic relationships with industry partners, community groups and other stakeholders
- Represent NZSE at sector events
- Encourage research engagement within the academic team and contribute to scholarly activities
- This role may also involve some teaching to cover staff absences
You are a confident and experienced educational leader who understands the dynamic needs of learners in the Health and Wellbeing sector. You are committed to quality teaching, equity in education, and have the skills to lead teams through change and growth with empathy and strategic clarity.
You Will Have
- Proven experience in academic leadership, preferably within the tertiary education sector
- A PhD qualification in Health and research active in Health and/or Wellbeing
- Tertiary teaching experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience within tertiary education
- Strong understanding of NZQA academic quality assurance frameworks
- Committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive education practices
- Possess the New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (L5) or hold the Diploma in Adult Tertiary Teaching (L6) or willing to work towards one
