About the role

Your career will thrive at Merivale Retirement Village in Christchurch. You will flourish in assisting our residents to enjoy meaningful leisure activities.

We are looking for 2 part time staff:

Role 1: 26 hours per week over 4 days- Tuesday to Thursday - 9.30am to 4 pm and Friday 9.30 am to 5.30 pm

Role 2: 14 hours per week over 3 days - Saturday and Sunday 10am to 2 pm and Monday 9.30 am to 4 pm

Duties include:

• producing our weekly and monthly magazines
• engaging with our residents and family members
• delivering group activities for our residents that engage, provide social interaction and bring a sense of belonging
• connecting with community groups and supporting existing village run activities
• driving our Village bus and escorting residents on excursions
• organising special events and outings for our residents such as concerts, dinners and meetings

Skills and Experience Required:

• Enthusiastic, creative, outgoing and can think outside the box.
• Current Full Driver's License
• Genuine love for the elderly and want to make a difference.
• Current First Aid Certificate preferred but not essential.
• Experience with working with groups of older people
• Customer focused.
