About The Role
This exciting role as a Data Governance Product Specialist (known as Data Governance Specialist internally) at Genesis involves implementing a modern data governance framework to empower our business units to self-manage and take ownership of their data. In this role you will shape, design and implement a new and innovative data governance strategy leveraging tools such as Informatica, Databricks Unity Catalogue, Microsoft Purview, and more to support data accessibility, quality, and security. About The Role
This exciting role as a Data Governance Product Specialist (known as Data Governance Specialist internally) at Genesis involves implementing a modern data governance framework to empower our business units to self-manage and take ownership of their data. In this role you will shape, design and implement a new and innovative data governance strategy leveraging tools such as Informatica, Databricks Unity Catalogue, Microsoft Purview, and more to support data accessibility, quality, and security. Join us and be part of our journey to innovate and drive strategic value through advanced analytics and AI governance.
In this role you will;
- Implement and translate our Data Governance Strategy into a roadmap which supports the company and our AI ambitions.
- Bring in modern data governance frameworks and practices that are relevant to Genesis context and strategy.
- Configure and manage data governance tools such as Informatica to ensure smooth operation and optimal user experience.
- Establish data governance standards and processes for business units.
- Support the design and implementation of an AI governance framework.
- Orchestrate and influence IT, legal, and business teams to engage with data governance initiatives and achieve adoption of data governance practices.
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual with a strong background in data and product and design thinking mindset. You will ideally have a proven track record in implementing modern data governance practices that enables business innovation rather than a compliance focus.
Our ideal candidate will also have;
- A tertiary degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, or a related field.
- A background in data product, service or process design would be highly advantageous, as we position Data Governance as a product at Genesis
- Extensive experience with data analytics and tools as well as solid SQL skills.
- Experience with data process improvement and design.
- Proficiency with data governance tools such as Informatica, Collibra, Alation and Microsoft Purview would be a plus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence, provide guidance and build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders and at a senior leadership level.
