He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

Due to parental leave cover, we have an exciting, fixed term opportunity (ending 30 June 2026) for an experienced specialist in population and demand data planning to join our close-knit Strategic Planning team.

This role supports the development of Watercare's infrastructure focused strategies, to ensure Auckland's future water services needs and expectations are met.

You will be responsible for operating Watercare's population models and datasets as part of infrastructure servicing strategies and planning projects, supporting these to achieve Watercare's objectives.

This will require communication and collaboration across the business and Auckland Council to ensure that our structured and unstructured datasets are fit for purpose and consistent.

We are looking for a passionate professional who is an analytical thinker and has excellent communication skills with the confidence to work across the business with multiple stakeholders.

Your Background Will Include

  • Relevant qualification in data analytics, data engineering, forecasting or demographics.
  • Three plus years' experience in a relevant or related field.
  • Experience in population investigations with spatial, temporal, structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Experience in the New Zealand planning and demographic analysis environment.
