The Opportunity - Te tūranga
This is an entry level role into the magic of TVNZ.
As Studio Operator you will support studio production and will work across a range of studio crafts including teleprompting, lighting, vision, sound, cameras, and staging.
Reporting to the Team Lead - Studio Operators, you will work across a variety of programmes and will be assigned to various shifts to grow an overall understanding of television production.
This role is physical in its nature as you will be working to move setting elements and assisting with the rigging of lighting, camera, and audio equipment. TNVZs studios operate every day of the year from early morning to late evening so rostered shift work will be part of this role.

To be successful in this role, you will need
- On the job experience and/ or training in a television, film, or theatrical environment
- Some experience in producing content including practical experience with cameras, editing, sound, lighting etc.
- An understanding of basic media workflows through content capture, production, and distribution
- Physically fit and able to move setting elements between storage and studios, and assist with the rigging of lighting, camera, and audio equipment.
- Technically savvy
- Keen to learn
- Self-starter
- Solution oriented
- Effective communicator
