Retail Store Manager

We are looking for a store manager to organise and coordinate administrative duties in our grocery, The Vege Bin, in Matamata. The position is full-time (min 30h/w) and permanent.

The applicant needs to perform the following tasks:

1. Working with suppliers to ensure adequate levels of stock are maintained. Keeping documentation and records as needed for the preparation of accounts.

2. ensuring store complies with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance and maintaining service standards

3. conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with products and service

4. marketing and social media management

5. developing and implementing advertising and promotions to improve customer loyalty

6. Training and supervising the staff

7. Having oversight and control over the staff roster system and leave applications. Confirming and managing staff leave requests.

8. Heavy lifting up to 20 kg

The applicant

1. should have at least 3 years of full-time working experience in retail (preferably experience in veggie and fruit stores) or

2. should have a relevant qualification, such as a Level 5 or higher Business Diploma

3. must be able to work on weekends, the store is open 7 days, 8.30 am-6 pm, we are only closed on Christmas day and Easter weekend

4. may be required to work evenings to complete tasks

5. must have knowledge of MS-Office programs

6. must have good communication and presentation skills, as well as organisational and problem-solving skills

7. must be able to work and make decisions independently

8. knowledge of shelving products
