Te Reo Tātaki, TVNZ is undergoing transitioning from a broadcast centric organisation to becoming a digital-first, public media streamer. This transition is supported by a strategic transformation programme designed to speed up our transition. It will provide the roadmap for Te Reo Tātaki, to continue as a vibrant, commercially sustainable media organisation that delivers trusted news, sport, and the best of international and local entertainment to Aotearoa for generations to come.

The Opportunity - Te Tūranga

This role plays a critical role in shaping the end-to-end integration architecture across our enterprise systems, platforms, and partner ecosystems. Integration is a critical enabler of our agility, scalability, and ability to deliver seamless digital experiences and operational efficiency across domains such as content operations, commercial platforms, customer engagement, and enterprise services.

As an Integration Architect, you will define and govern the principles, patterns, and target state architectures that drive interoperability, reuse, and alignment across our technology landscape. You will work closely with architects and stakeholders to ensure integration decisions support long-term business and technology strategies.

This is an architect-level role focused on structure, strategy, and design. It is not an engineering position, and doesn't involve hands-on coding. You will be expected to guide, advise, and influence solution design and implementation from an architectural perspective, ensuring consistency, scalability, and alignment with enterprise objectives.

Your Focus Will Be To

  • Deliver integration architectures that align with TVNZ's vision, driving the transition to modern data-driven enterprise
  • Define and lead the enterprise integration architecture strategy and roadmap, enabling scalable, secure, and maintainable integrations across diverse business and technology domains
  • Lead the design and governance of integration architectures across key enterprise domains, ensuring seamless connectivity and interoperability in areas such as finance, content operations, digital platforms and data ecosystems
  • Establish and govern integration principles, reference integration architectures, and reusable patterns such as API-led, event-driven, and hybrid-cloud approaches
  • Develop API and interoperability standards that promote consistency, reuse, and performance across internal and external integrations
  • Evaluate and recommend integration tools that align with enterprise architecture goals and long-term strategic direction
  • Serve as the integration design authority for major programs, ensuring solution alignment with enterprise architecture principles and business priorities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to shape integration decisions that support agility, resilience, and operational efficiency across the enterprise
  • Ensure integration strategies enable data integrity, service interoperability, and reliable connectivity across platforms and partner ecosystems
  • Represent the integration domain within enterprise architecture governance forums, influencing standards, principles, and strategic technology direction

What We're Looking For - Tā mātou e kimi nei:

To be successful in this role, you will need

  • Proven experience as lead Integration Architect, with a successful track record of designing enterprise-wide integration architectures that connect systems, data flows, and services.
  • Deep expertise in modern integration patterns, including API architectures, event-driven design, service orchestration, and hybrid (cloud/on-premise) connectivity.
  • Strong understanding of real-time and asynchronous integration methods, including event streaming, pub/sub models, and messaging technologies such as Kafka.
  • Proficient in evaluating and architecting solutions using cloud-native AWS and Azure services.
  • Solid knowledge of secure-by-design principles, including data protection, identity, access management, and compliance within integration architectures.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and practices, with the ability to align integration strategy with broader business and technology goals.
  • Skilled in creating architectural documentation, integration roadmaps, and high-level system interaction models for both technical and executive audiences.
