Are you a motivated and experienced accounting & finance professional who enjoys leading a team? We're looking for a Business Support Lead to join our Contracting Division in Whangarei, Northland and help drive commercial success across the region.
2-Year Fixed Term Role:
The Business Support Lead is responsible for working within the Commercial Team and alongside the Northland Contracting Operation to support the commercial and operations performance of the region.
This includes leading a team of 2 business administrators that provides a range of business support and administration duties to support the wider regional teams to ensure the required commercial outcomes are achieved, or exceeded, and strategic opportunities are achieved.
Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider for Whangārei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers.
We are one of the largest multi-utility contractors in New Zealand, servicing the needs of clients in transmission, distribution, generation, fibre, renewables, and commercial sectors. - Leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of Business Support Administrators
- Financial Administration, WIP and month-end processes, invoicing and debt management, analysis, monitoring and reporting
- Supporting internal/external audit processes
- Providing hands-on administrative support as needed
- Driving continuous improvement across systems, processes, and performance
- Building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

- A tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Commerce, or Management (preferred)
- 5+ years of financial administration experience
- Proven leadership experience, ideally managing small teams
- Strong skills in ERP/MRP systems (JDE or SAP preferred)
- Excellent communication, prioritisation, and coordination skills
- A collaborative, team-first mindset
