Bring Mercury's Story to Life - Visually and Powerfully

At Mercury, we're on a mission to inspire New Zealanders to enjoy energy in more wonderful ways - and that story deserves to be told brilliantly. We're looking for a creative, technically skilled, and purpose-driven Content Creator / Videographer to help us do just that. If you're passionate about turning ideas into compelling visuals and want your work to make a real impact, this could be your next move.

This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract with flexibility to be based in Auckland, Tauranga, Hamilton or Rotorua.

What You'll Be Doing

As Mercury's in-house storyteller, you'll capture the energy of our people, purpose, and strategy through high-quality visual content that connects hearts and minds. You will:

  • Produce high-quality videos that bring Mercury's values, culture, and strategy to life.
  • Create visual assets - photography, animations, graphics, and multimedia for internal communication and engagement campaigns.
  • Collaborate with our Enterprise Engagement team and internal stakeholders to craft meaningful, on-brand stories.
  • Lead end-to-end content production - from concept development, storyboarding and shooting, through to editing and delivery.
  • Manage Mercury's visual identity and ensure a consistent, high-quality look and feel across all content.
  • Maintain and organise a content library of visual assets for reuse across the business.
  • Stay on the cutting edge of digital storytelling, keeping up with trends and new tools to enhance our internal communications.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone with a balance of creative flair and technical excellence. You'll need:

  • A tertiary qualification in film, visual communication, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years in video production or multimedia content creation.
  • A strong portfolio that showcases your visual storytelling skills across formats and styles.
  • Proficiency with editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects - and hands-on experience with photography and graphic design.
  • A collaborative, can-do attitude and ability to turn complex ideas into accessible, resonant content.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Cultural awareness and a desire to support our people and purpose visually and authentically.

Why Work With Us?

At Mercury, we don't just talk about adaptability and purpose - we live it. We're a values-led organisation that encourages curiosity, experimentation, and learning. We celebrate diversity and are deeply committed to sustainability, inclusion, and growth - both for Aotearoa and for you.

  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Competitive salary
  • A chance to shape how Mercury communicates and connects internally
