We are looking for passionate cook specialises in Tandoor and curry to work at our busy restaurant in Timaru. You will be full time permanent Employee working six days in a week with minimum 30hrs and max 40hrs per week. Hourly rate $24 - $25.50

We are looking Indian Cook specialises in tandoor and curry who has at least 2 years work experience. The role is full time and permanent with pay of $24 - $25.50 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 30 - 40 hours per week

Your Duties will be : -

Should have ability to trained cook and kitchen hand in the organisation

Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, and public holidays

Must have an can-do attitude

Maintain customer focused environment within kitchen and service teams and promptly addressing any customers complaints

Ensuring full menu is available all the times during trading hours

Indian Cooking Experience in Curry making is preferred as the Cook will be required to work independently ans handle junior staff efficiently

Suggesting ideas to develop and improve the food and srevice

Working as a team member and supporting

Front and back Team of restaurant throughout service times and exceed the expectations of customer by adapting any new changes in practice

Ensuring compliance with policies on goods received , so that deliveries of produce to the department are properly checked and recorded, and meet appropriate quality and packaging standards

Taking responsibility where appropriate for monitoring stock rotation and use by dates, informing the other chef/cook of any failure so that appropriate action is taken

Reporting to the Manager any required changes to menus , as soon as the need to do so is identified , so that customers can be informed

Positive attitude , Building Report with staff, and ability to thrive under pressure communication skills, Decision making and Handling Issues professionally

A Passion for culinary excellence and hardworking Nature Great presentation and Personal Hygiene , and willingness to work in a fast-placed environment

Basic knowledge of Indian Food or interest to learn the Indian Cuisine will be beneficial , as this is an Indian restaurant

Knowledge or Experience in Food safety and Hygiene regulations will be a Bonus

Knowledge of grinding spices
