Mō te tūranga | About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Support Worker to provide support for the four men, Mick, Seth, Jack and Bill who are in their 40's and live near our Barrington campus.
The men have a wide variety of interests including going on holidays, watching sports, going to church and socialising together. Mick and Jack both have jobs, Seth and Bill have higher medical needs and enjoy time at home.
Ideally, you will have in-depth knowledge of Dementia and ASD and be able to learn quickly. You will be energetic, empathetic, and capable of working alongside these individuals, focusing on creating a life filled with rich and diverse experiences. Additionally, you should be adept at reading situations, problem-solving, and knowing when to apply boundaries or offer space.
Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth. You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. You will be passionate about supporting and extending people’s ability to access and be part of their wider community. If you are looking for a new challenge this could be the opportunity for you.
This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.50 and $28.25 per hour.

- Sunday 7am to 4pm
- Thursday 4pm to 9:30pm, 9:30pm to 7am (Sleepover)
- Friday 7am to 9am, 4pm to 9:30pm, 9:30pm to 7am (Sleepover)
- Saturday 7am to 4pm
Week Two
- Monday 4pm to 9:30pm, 9:30pm to 7am (Sleepover)
- Tuesday 7am to 9am, 2pm to 9:30pm, 9:30pm to 7am (Sleepover)
- Wednesday 7am to 9am
- Saturday 4pm to 9:30pm, 9:30pm to 7am (Sleepover)
Hands on hours: 53.5 | Sleepover hours: 47.5
Total Hours per fortnight: 101
