Our Systems Accounting Team is one of the functions of the Corporate and Shared Services Directorate at the Treasury. We provide specialist support across the organisation relating to our Financial and Payroll transactional system.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

We have a permanent opportunity for an enthusiastic Systems Support person to join our team.

As one of our system experts, you'll provide support to our shared service payroll team in matters of configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and development and reporting.

You'll also provide backup capacity across the Systems team to ensure we continue to deliver an effective, efficient and reliable system.

This is a fast-paced role where you'll be resolving issues on short deadlines, so if you're someone who thrives on a challenge, we'd like to hear from you!

Ō pūmanawa | About You

We are seeking a well-rounded candidate with real world experience of working with payroll systems and data. You will also bring:


  • Previous experience working with TechnologyOne is required
  • Interest and enthusiasm for data analysis, and an eagerness to learn
  • An ability to problem-solve and look for patterns
  • An inquisitive mindset
  • Ability to visualise reports for a range of business managers
  • A high level of integrity, with practised judgment and discretion
  • The ability to Self-start with a can-do attitude
  • An understanding of payroll processes and knowledge of the Holidays Act
  • Experience in working as a member of a team that provides systems support in a fast-paced environment
  • Technical aptitude for working with integrated systems and building accurate, reliable and effective reports from the system
  • A good understanding of integrated management systems and best practices
