Te Puni Kokiri is the government's principal policy advisor on M ori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for, and with M ori. This includes our mandate to promote M ori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.
Our People, Capability and Culture tima is looking for a Kaitohu, Mana T ngata | HR Advisor. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Tari Matua, Poneke | National Office, Wellington.

Our Kaitohu Mana T ngata | HR Advisor role offers an opportunity for an HR Advisor with 1-2 years of experience to develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment.
This is a true generalist role where you will work closely with the Principal HR Advisor and the wider tima. You'll develop skills in the full spectrum of HR including performance management, employment relations and change management while developing relationships and networks across the organisation. When you are ready, there will be opportunity for you to own and lead pieces of work with support and guidance as you need.
The likely appointment range is $76,022 - $84,468, based on skills and experience. The full grade for this role is $76,022 - $101,362 with a mid-point of $84,468.

This position is ideal for someone with:
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
- experience in public sector and some understanding of the machinery of government
- experience understanding and implementing policy
- effective communication skills
- comfort operating in a tikanga/kaupapa M ori environment
