Our client is seeking a seasoned Finance Transfer and Transition Lead to spearhead the development and implementation of financial transitions for segments of their finance function. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage end-to-end transfers of financial functions between public agencies, ensuring compliance with government mandates and policies.

What You'll Do

As a Finance Transfer and Transition Lead, you will be at the forefront of managing significant financial transitions within public sector agencies. Your role will involve developing comprehensive transfer plans, managing end-to-end transfers of various financial functions, and ensuring compliance with relevant government policies. You will also be responsible for identifying and managing potential risks associated with these transitions. Your ability to oversee the transition of financial systems while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships will be crucial in this role.

  • Develop robust transfer plans to meet programme goals and government mandates
  • Manage the end-to-end transfer of financial functions, including budgets, balance sheet items, contracts, and associated financial delegations
  • Ensure transition activities comply with the Public Finance Act, Treasury guidelines, and applicable government financial policies
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks related to the financial transition
  • Oversee the transition of any financial systems, processes, and reporting lines
  • Maintain leadership and management of complex stakeholder relationships throughout the transition

What You Bring

The ideal candidate for the Finance Transfer and Transition Lead role brings extensive senior-level experience in public sector finance. You have a proven track record in leading transitions or restructures within central government agencies. Your deep understanding of public finance principles coupled with your familiarity with ERP systems like Workday sets you apart. Your strong communication skills enable you to build trust among stakeholders while your demonstrated change management skills allow you to adapt to new challenges effectively.

  • Extensive senior-level experience (8+ years) in public sector finance
  • Proven experience leading transitions, restructures, or inter-agency transfers
  • In-depth understanding of public finance principles, budgeting, appropriation management, and Crown financial reporting
  • Strong communication skills across all stakeholder levels
  • Demonstrated change management skills
