An exciting 6 month fixed term opportunity has arisen for an experienced Event Manager to join a leading not-for-profit organisation dedicated to accelerating the development of sustainable building practices. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for sustainability, excellent organisational skills, and a knack for creating engaging events that resonate with diverse audiences.
What You'll Do
As an Event Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the annual events and sponsorship programme. Your creativity will be put to good use as you research new formats, source speakers, and bring innovative ideas to life. You'll work closely with internal teams to create events that promote sustainability in the built environment. Your excellent organisational skills will be essential as you manage suppliers, negotiate costs, oversee registration processes, venues, ticketing, and communications. You'll also drive event attendance through effective stakeholder relationships and marketing support. A key part of your role will be continuous improvement of event systems and processes.
The ideal candidate for this Event Manager position brings a wealth of experience in event management along with strong organisational skills. Your attention to detail sets you apart as does your ability to manage yourself while collaborating effectively with others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for this role. A passion for sustainability would be highly advantageous as would an understanding of sustainable event design. While experience within the building industry is preferred it is not a requirement.

- Manage event budgets and sponsorship frameworks.
- Build strong relationships with industry partners.
- Plan and deliver all organisation events from start to finish.
- Manage suppliers, negotiate costs, and oversee registration, venues, ticketing, and communications.
- Drive event attendance through stakeholder relationships and marketing support.
- Continuously improve event systems and processes.
- Conduct post-event reporting and prepare sponsor reports.

- Minimum 3 year's experience in event management (agency experience beneficial).
- Strong organisational skills, detail-oriented, self-managing, and collaborative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for sustainability and understanding of sustainable event design preferred.
- Experience within the building industry preferred but not required.
