This is a rare opportunity to establish and lead a modern asset management function within an organisation that supports some of Aotearoa’s most innovative ideas. Reporting into the head of Strategy & Infrastructure, this is a pivotal leadership role with two direct reports and a mandate to build and enhance our asset management systems and strategies. You’ll be responsible for developing end to end long-term asset management plans and strategies, conducting condition assessments, improving data quality, and embedding best-practice frameworks across the organisation.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Asset Management System (AMS), including policy, strategy, levels of service, and criticality frameworks
  • Build out a new operating model that supports effective asset delivery and operational planning
  • Oversee condition assessments and ensure high-quality asset data through tools such as SPM Assets, ArcGIS, and FMI Works
  • Develop and implement long-term asset management plans
  • Support wider organisational transformation and strategic initiatives
  • Partner with stakeholders across infrastructure, and property sectors
  • Manage a small team while setting a collaborative, forward-thinking culture
  • Provide robust reporting and insights to the Executive and Board
  • Role model organisational behaviours and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

What You Bring

  • A background in asset management across infrastructure, and property environments
  • Experience working in complex project/programme settings
  • Knowledge of asset systems like SPM Assets, ArcGIS, and FMI Works
  • Exceptional data and records management capability
  • Strategic mindset and the ability to lead and influence across an organisation
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder relationship management
  • Ideally, experience working within complex and technical asset portfolios
