About the Role

Exciting opportunities available for non-training Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar.

MidCentral District provides an excellent grounding for Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrars looking to grow and develop their skills. The hospital has a busy birthing suite with just over 2000 births a year within the district. During the last years we have improved our management of both spontaneous and induced labour with a multidisciplinary approach and a focus on the continuous auditing of outcomes. This has led to a decreased caesarean section rate.

In addition, there are a range of gynaecological surgeries undertaken and opportunities for both Gynaecology and Obstetrics outpatient clinics.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility for registration by visiting the Council's website at www.mcnz.org.nz
  • Completed PGY2 year or equivalent.
  • Completed at least one year as an obstetrics and gynaecology house officer.
