An exciting new role has become available in our Network Platforms team for a Project Manager, based in our Whangarei office.
The role
Reporting to Strategic Initiatives Programme Manager, you’ll be working closely with our managers, engineers. platform developers, analysts and our vendors to deliver systems and business improvement projects. You will be leading project teams that extend across departments, and own projects throughout the project lifecycle. Major projects we have for you to get underway with include a GIS replacement, and an ADMS system upgrade.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have experience working in a similar project management role in the digital and/or electricity industry, with asset management and operations systems. You’ll be someone with an understanding of how to deliver projects, manage change, and would come with previous project management and reporting knowledge.
You need to be comfortable working with a mix of project management and software development methodologies, as well as working with integrated, spatial and cloud systems.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Define, scope, and develop business cases with stakeholders
- Execute projects within the Northpower Network Strategic Initiative portfolio, from vendor selection, though implementation, delivery, and handover
- Deliver outcomes relating to Customer Experience, Asset Management, Network Operations and other functions.
- Support change management, analysts, developers, and business users with project delivery.
- Monitor and report on multiple project milestones and activities

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have experience working in a similar project management role in the digital and/or electricity industry, with asset management and operations systems. You’ll be someone with an understanding of how to deliver projects, manage change, and would come with previous project management and reporting knowledge.
You need to be comfortable working with a mix of project management and software development methodologies, as well as working with integrated, spatial and cloud systems.
We're looking for an individual who can demonstrate the following:
- Ability to build trust and maintain strong collaborative working relationships
- Exceptional influencing and change management capability
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Able to negotiate with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment
- A proactive approach, tackling challenges head-on and seeking solutions
- Experience with Geospatial, Distribution Management/SCADA, Customer Management, and Asset Management systems are advantageous
- Financial literacy and ability to write reports and manage project budgets
- Enjoy working in team environments, yet able to work self-directed
- Strong digital skills, with proficiency in MS Excel and Project
- Ability to prioritise, plan and organise workload
