ALS Food & Environmental NZ based in Ruakura Research Centre in Hamilton. We are looking for our newest team member to join the well-established Laboratory.

ALS is proud to be one of New Zealand’s most dynamic commercial analytical testing laboratories. We serve clients across a diverse range of market sectors including honey, dairy, food production, research, and environmental testing services. We leverage state of the art equipment to support our clients across New Zealand, Australia and from other countries seeking our expert analysis. The day to day

Our Laboratory Technicians are responsible for routine preparation and testing of a wide variety of samples, alongside other operational tasks that ensure efficient laboratory function.

This role is an entry-level position based at our Hamilton site.

Full training will be provided to the successful applicants to ensure proficiency in our testing methods and processes.

Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Preparing a variety of samples including meat.
  • Carrying out standardised testing in a timely manner.
  • Abiding by guidelines detailed in the ISO17025 standard.
  • Calibration and maintenance of lab equipment and instrumentation.
  • Acquiring a sound understanding of Health & Safety awareness and practices.
  • Active participation in continuous improvement projects, including upkeep of established processes.

  • Self-motivated and can remain focused while completing repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent time management skills and have the flexibility to cope with changing priorities throughout the day.
  • Reliable team player with a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Ability to follow instructions verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Have a reliable mode of transport to Ruakura Research Centre in Hamilton.
