Talent Right has partnered exclusively with Trademax for the appointment of a Sales Manager based from head office in Dunedin. This is a newly created position for a highly skilled sales leader with extensive experience and connections in the trades industry across Otago and Southland.


The Company

Trademax is a family owned and operated trade outlet store with branches in Dunedin and Cromwell. Founded in 2007 the company has grown exponentially and is now a major supplier for some of the country’s best-known brands in paint, plaster, access equipment, wall coverings, spray units and general accessories.


The Job

We are seeking a highly motivated sales professional who has the ability to lead from the front, working with existing clients, forging new relationships and continuing to build the Trademax brand.


This is a varied role involving account management, business development and sales leadership. You will be tasked with nurturing and growing the existing client base of loyal and longstanding customers as well as identifying new business opportunities and securing new customers.


Whilst this position is based from the Dunedin branch you will be travelling regularly to Central Otago and Southland regions where you will service existing clients and meet with potential prospects to secure new business.


This is also a leadership role so experience managing small sales teams is essential as you will have direct reports both in Dunedin and Cromwell that you will support, lead and inspire to increase sales output and grow revenue.


You will work closely with the Managing Director to execute sales strategy, implement structure, processes and instil accountability within the sales team. You will be responsible for oversight of all sales activities from setting KPI’s, running weekly sales meetings and one to ones and ensuring accurate sales reporting.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead, development and inspire the sales team to exceed sales targets.
  • Working closely with the existing client base to ensure customer needs are met & maximising opportunities to grow revenue.
  • Research and strategically target new business opportunities.
  • Qualify new business leads through site visits, cold calling and networking.
  • Maintain a well-organised and updated sales pipeline via CRM.
  • Prepare quotes and pricing as required by customers and prospects.
  • Provide regular reporting on sales activities to management.
