About the City Operations Team:
The City Operations Team performs an essential role, keeping our City well maintained. Tauranga is a great place to live and play and our spaces are core to the community's ability to enjoy everything the city has to offer.
We are currently seeking a superstar Supervisor to run our Facilities team due to internal promotion. This role will oversee a team of 6 tradies who are spread across the city maintaining TCC buildings and assets.
We need a seasoned people leader that knows how to motivate, engage and support a crew of qualified tradespeople including an electrician, plumber, HVAC technician and multiple handy-people. You’ll be a community focused role model that understands that our customers are our top priority. You won’t shy away from the tough conversations and also won’t mind getting your hands dirty from time to time!
What you’ll need to succeed in the City Operations Team:
· Proven experience leading teams to achieve high-quality outcomes
· Background as a qualified tradesperson (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, or Carpentry preferred)
· Contract management experience is a bonus
· Excellent planning, problem-solving and prioritisation skills
· Demonstrated success in implementing Health & Safety systems and fostering a safety-first culture
· Full, clean NZ driver's licence
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Solid computer skills and a willingness to learn new systems
· Resilience, integrity, and plenty of practical common sense
