Join one of New Zealand’s leading suppliers of party accessories and costumes! Walond Ltd (TA Look Sharp) is seeking a driven and professional Region Merchandiser who is eager to develop their career in the retail and party supplies industry.

Position Details:

• Role Type: Full-time, permanent

• Location of the job: Tenancy F, Nelson Junction, 99 Quarantine Road, Nelson

• The minimum guaranteed hours of work per week: 40 hours

• The maximum hours of work per week: 50 hours

• The minimum and maximum rate of pay or salary: $27-$30 per hour (depending on skills and experience)

Job Description:

• Plan and develop merchandising strategies that balance customers’ expectations and company’s objectives

• Analyse sales figures, customers reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs and plan product ranges/stock

• Collaborate with buyers, suppliers, distributors and analysts to negotiate prices, quantities and time-scales

• Ensure that stores and shelves are stocked with the right types and quantities of products

• Display, arrange, price, and rotate products in store

• Maintain store shelves by removing dated or damaged products

• Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs etc

• Forecast profits/sales and plan budgets

• Optimize sales volume and profitability by identifying profitable lines and bestseller

• Make recommendations for promotional strategies using sales and pricing data

• Work and communicate with buyers, suppliers, stores, and distributors

Requirements:

• Minimum of one year of relevant experience or a level 4 NZQF qualification in retail, sales or business

• Strong interest or knowledge in the retail and party supplies industry

• Hardworking, reliable, and punctual

• Positive attitude with a strong sense of responsibility

• Excellent customer service and leadership skills

• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays

• No criminal record
