Deloitte New Zealand's Tax and Business Advisory team is a market leader and focuses on delivering value to small, medium and large sized enterprises. We help our clients across New Zealand and beyond to realise their full potential and put them on a pathway to grow and succeed.

We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our close-knit Dunedin team.

Job Description

Your typical day will include:

  • Building relationships with key client contacts.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns, as well as assisting clients in managing their tax obligations throughout the year.
  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts, forecasts, budgets and various other metrics required by clients to monitor their business.
  • Adopting different methods to collect and analyse data from various sources with the purpose of deriving insights for our clients.
  • Assisting our clients to operate and improve their internal finance functions.
  • Occasional support to the External Auditing team

Qualifications

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:

  • A Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting or similar
  • 2 years of work experience in accounting within a professional services environment
  • Working towards your CA/CPA or equivalent
  • Experience with Xero
  • Experience of external audit
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Driven and highly committed
  • A team player that values input and support from team members, but can also work autonomously.

For this permanent position you will be rewarded with a competitive salary from $63,000 p.a. to $66,000 p.a. dependent on experience, healthcare insurance subsidy, and mobile phone benefit.
