Our Laboratories are responsible for testing civil engineering materials such as aggregates, soils, concrete, and bituminous materials to support our clients’ manufacturing and construction activities.

Civil Materials Lab Technician - Gisborne
Our Gisborne Laboratory is looking for a Civil Materials Lab Technician to join their team.
Previous experience in a civil engineering laboratory is beneficial but not required, full training will be provided.
You will be required to conduct hands-on testing of civil engineering materials, such as concrete, asphalt, soils, bitumen and aggregates to NZ and International Standards.
This role will involve a variety of projects working in the laboratory or out in the field. There will be the occasional night shift work. This role involves a significant amount of physical activity, including lifting and carrying heavy material and equipment.

About you:
- Previous experience in a civil engineering laboratory is advantageous
- If you do not have laboratory experience, we are open to speaking with recent high school leavers and/or applicants with previous experience working in a labour / trades role, such as construction, roading, warehousing or farming
- A good level of fitness and strength, as these roles can be physically demanding and require heavy lifting of materials (up to 30kg)
- Holds a current clean NZ driver’s license.
- Excellent communication skills and a team player
- Willing to travel as and when required for work
