The Practice Nurse provides primary care nursing support, patient interventions and treatment within the Medical Centre. As part of the general practice team they will work within their scope of practice and be responsible for providing patient-centred, culturally appropriate, and individual holistic care to patients.

Patients should feel that they have been dealt with in a friendly, courteous manner and that all that can be done for them, has been done. “Going the extra mile” is our philosophy.

The Practice Nurse works closely with the doctors and other team members to provide efficient, effective, professional nursing services.

We are looking for the following skills and attributes:

  • Current NZ practicing certificates (APC) and CPR certificate
  • Be committed to applying the Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and reducing health inequalities for all.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, and empathy towards patients
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
  • High clinical and professional standards

Full training on our IT systems will be provided.
