Details: Casual positions available for Registered Nurses to work with the District Nursing Service or Specialist Nursing teams in the community setting based in Napier and Hastings

About the Role

The responsibilities of a District Nurse include providing clinical care in home or clinic settings. Responsibilities encompass wound care for postoperative and chronic wounds, urinary catheter care, including complication prevention, catheter replacements, compression bandaging, managing negative pressure wound therapy, and handling surgical, nephrostomy, and pleural drains. The specialist services include the Continence, Ostomy Better Breathing Hawkes Bay and Wound Services.

This work is varied, rewarding, and interesting. This position provides an opportunity to support the community in managing health requirements.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Community Nursing Service teams include District Nursing teams in Napier and Hastings, Continence, Ostomy, Better Breathing Hawkes Bay (providing respiratory and heart failure rehabilitation and Community Oxygen Therapy), and Wound and Community Clinical Nurse Specialist teams, with support from Clinical Nurse Coordinators, Health Care Assistants, and administration teams. Services are based at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital and Napier Health Centre.
