Job Purpose:

The Maintenance Technician ensures the reliability of process equipment through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while implementing a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime, managing spare parts inventory, supporting continuous improvement, and maintaining safety standards.

Equipment Reliability and Maintenance

  • Conduct regular assessments and inspections of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Report abnormal equipment conditions to schedule maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate equipment logs and maintenance records for traceability.

Preventative Maintenance Program Development

  • Develop, plan, and implement a robust preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Recommend replacement or upgrade of obsolete equipment.
  • Coordinate with production to minimize operational disruption.

Troubleshooting and Repairs

  • Troubleshoot the root causes of equipment failure and provide timely repairs.
  • Assist in emergency breakdown resolution and collaborate with the electrician on minor electrical works.
  • Implement long-term fixes for recurring issues.

Safety and Housekeeping

  • Follow LOTO procedures and other Health & Safety protocols during work.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Participate in safety initiatives, including audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support process improvement and energy-saving initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects that enhance machine uptime or reduce waste.
  • Assist with machinery upgrades and redesigns.

Spare Parts Inventory

  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of essential spare parts.
  • Initiate reordering of parts based on usage trends and lead times.
  • Record all part movements in CMMS and ensure stock accuracy.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for part sourcing and delivery follow-up.

Ad Hoc Tasks

  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of machinery.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: Preferably bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent.

Work Experience: At least 3 years' experience in the same role.

Trainings, License & Certifications: Electrical certification or mechanical trade license preferred. Forklift license and Working at Heights certification are advantageous. Preferably with MEWP and Confined space training certification.
