About The Role
- Specialist anaesthetists also provide comprehensive services in acute pain, birthing, MRI, Pre Assessment Clinic, respond to trauma calls, and provide clinical management of a robust Intensive Care Unit (7 beds).
- The Anaesthetic Service provides elective day stay services and a Pre-Admission clinic in Taupo Hospital on a weekly basis.
About the Team/Service/Location
- Rotorua Hospital is a busy district hospital covering a wide range of regional hospital specialties.
- Surgical Services runs one acute and 4 elective theatres a day.
- You’ll be joining a team of anaesthetists that provide high quality care and are progressive.

About You
- Applicants for specialist anaesthetic roles must have completed their specialist training (preferably FANZCA) and be eligible to obtain provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
- Experience in Intensive Care Medicine is strongly desirable, formal qualification(s) in ICU would be extremely attractive to us, but are not a requirement.
- We have many other areas of clinical interest that we would be interested in discussing.
