Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As the Senior Advisor – Digital and Channels, you’ll deliver campaigns and content, using digital channels as well as traditional media. You’ll play a key role in identifying and pursuing opportunities to increase participation and community/stakeholder engagement. You will understand how best to reach audiences, using the right channels and messages.

More About The Role

  • Provide digital communications advice on complex or politically sensitive topics
  • Provide campaign channels and content advice to best reach audiences and communities with relevant messages
  • Develop and implement digital-first communications and engagement plans, monitoring effectiveness and evaluating outcomes
  • Ensure alignment with the organisation’s communication strategy, recognising and advising on risks to reputation
  • Lead strategies, campaigns, and outputs to support Environment Canterbury’s strategy
  • Produce quality content across various channels
  • Support the coaching, development, and mentoring of team members

This role is fixed term for 12 months covering parental leave.

Mōu │About You

You’ll be an enthusiastic, energetic, and skilled senior communicator with solid digital and campaign experience across web, social, email, video and other platforms.

We Are Looking For Someone With The Following

  • A background in communications, digital communications, e-commerce or marketing
  • Confidence to develop, lead, and deliver multi-channel campaigns
  • Experience in the development and use of data visualisation, digital tools, and channels
  • Manage multiple projects in a complex environment

Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience

You’ll have a relevant tertiary qualification in communications or a related discipline such as digital marketing, e-commerce, journalism, or marketing.

  • Five years in communications, digital marketing, public relations, e-commerce and marketing
  • Sound working knowledge of digital communications tools, techniques and channels
  • Ability to deliver consistent, high-quality communications advice
  • Audience, channel and relevancy understanding and experience reaching multiple audiences
  • Demonstrable relationship-building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and translate them into compelling communications
  • Understanding and use of te reo and tikanga Māori is an advantage.
