Our mahi (work) is organised around the delivery of our three core services:
Key to this is enhancing the way we partner with others to enhance the development, review, and integration of key regional environment strategies to achieve community outcomes in biodiversity, freshwater, air quality, and pest management.
Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role
This is a key leadership role where you’ll manage and develop staff, balancing individual and team needs to create an engaged team ready to deliver work programmes that align with Organisational outcomes. You’ll guide the team's technical work, ensuring timely and relevant information is provided to senior leaders and colleagues, while cultivating relationships across the organisation to support priority delivery.

You are an experienced dynamic leader with significant experience leading highly engaged teams. You’ll understand the importance of building partnerships with mana whenua and have a track record of fostering collaborative relationships. Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience
You’ll have a relevant university qualification supported by a post graduate qualification or other relevant technical training along with:

This is a key leadership role where you’ll manage and develop staff, balancing individual and team needs to create an engaged team ready to deliver work programmes that align with Organisational outcomes. Key Accountabilities
- Lead a strategy team responsible for the development of regional strategies through high quality strategic and policy advice
- Lead, coach, mentor, & develop your team
- Create a clear vision, direction, & priorities, harnessing energy, commitment, & creativity
- Develop & maintain strategies, annual plans & work programmes
- Encourage kaimahi/team members to develop their te ao Māori confidence
- Maintain an overview of workload to ensure resources are sufficient

Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience
You’ll have a relevant university qualification supported by a post graduate qualification or other relevant technical training along with:
- Recent experience working within a high-level public or private sector strategic programme management, planning or equivalent
- At least five years’ experience working in a relevant professional field which has included leadership in strategy and or programme development and delivery
- Experience successfully leading a team to achieve agreed deliverables while developing team culture & individual development
