Based in Queenstown, the Network Operator Team Leader is responsible for supporting the Network operational teams ensuring all network assets and infrastructure are operated effectively.

What you'll be responsible for

The role is responsible for leading and assisting in operational activities involved with the delivery of safe drinking water and the collection of wastewater by ensuring, key operational tasks and responsibilities are carried out as follows;

  • Maintenance of all reticulation infrastructure and associated network assets (Planned, Routine,Breakdown).
  • Identifying and escalating problems
  • Undertaking designated operations duties.
  • Fault finding and repairs to assets and infrastructure, ability to use equipment to undertake repairs.
  • Working with internal staff, sharing of knowledge and skills.
  • Participating in the On-Call duty operator Roster.
  • Contribute to the management of Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Environmental Management Systems, while applying these procedures in all aspects of work,
  • Comply with the requirements of Veolia’s Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Policy Statements, including participation at local toolbox and health and safety meetings,
  • Comply with the requirements of the company's business management system and the Quality Policy for drinking water, wastewater treatment and disposal to contribute to the company's commitment to provide safe, high quality drinking water and wastewater services that consistently meets or exceeds the requirements of the Contracts,
  • To undertake such general duties as and when required for the effective provision of services to the client.
  • Undertake required regulatory and role specific on the job training.

What you'll need to be successful

Qualifications

  • Combination of education, training and industry experience.
  • Computer literacy.

Experience

  • Proven ability to lead a team
  • Provide hands-on industry experience.
  • Exposure to the water and/or process industry and basic understanding of various water
  • Infrastructure technologies and processes are preferable
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues and contractors.
  • Proven problem solving skills and proposed methodologies.
