About the Role
The Central Region Forensics & Rehabilitation Inpatient Services are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join the Youth Justice Forensic Community Team based in Hawkes Bay. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and experienced multi-disciplinary team that provides specialist care, psychological assessments and interventions to Rangatahi (youth) in residential units with scope for providing court report writing and consultancy to other services.
About the Team/Service/Location
The forensic community teams are multidisciplinary and provide mental health services to all prisons in the Central Region and follow up in the community for certain tangata whaiora/consumers transitioning from inpatient units. The Central Regional Forensic Service is involved with the Youth Court providing a Court Liaison Service and completing specialist assessments ordered by the Court through the Children Young Persons & Family Act, 1989 (Section 333).
About You
Our ideal candidate requires the following:
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in Psychology and post-graduate diploma in clinical psychology or equivalent.
- Registration with NZ Psychologist Board, with clinical psychology vocational scope of practice.
- Experience working with youth in the Forensic and/or Mental Health pathway.
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
- Full clean driver’s licence.
