About the Role
We have a great opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team in the Eye Outpatients.
Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care to patients and supporting the clinical team. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will assist nursing staff with patient cares whilst maintaining a safe and clean work environment on the ward.
You will be involved in:
- Vision assessments
- Assisting with minor procedures
- Technical scans and photos
- General hospital aide/ophthalmic duties
This is a great role for those who are interested in eyes or have worked in an eye field.
About the Service
The Eye Clinic is a very busy and demanding service that is staffed by a dedicated team of Healthcare Assistants, Nurses, Orthoptists, Optometrists, and Technicians who work closely with our highly skilled and specialised Ophthalmologists to meet the eye health needs of the people of Canterbury.
About you
We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant with a passion and commitment to the delivery of high standards of care for the patients. Enthusiastic and motivated, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced, forward-thinking, supportive environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage well
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Initiative and a proactive approach to work
- Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
- Strong computer skills and administration experience would be an advantage
- Ideally, experience as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar role
