About the role | Ko te mahi nei
As a senior leader within the People & Capability Unit, you'll oversee key HR service delivery functions - including recruitment, payroll, HR administration, and advisory services - ensuring seamless end-to-end service delivery that supports our people and leaders. You will be leading a team of managers and collaborating across the Council to:
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in our service delivery
- Lead implementation of new service delivery solutions and initiatives
- Provide clear, accessible HR guidance and support for leaders and kaimahi
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and organisational policies
- Collaborate on key organisational projects within and beyond the unit
About you | Ko Koe Tēnei
You've had experience leading HR services but it's your ability to listen, connect, and deliver HR services that our customers need that really sets you apart. You care deeply about great service, doing the right thing, and helping others succeed. With a solid understanding of modern HR best practice, along with a keen eye for continuous improvement and the ability to bring others on the journey, you'll be well placed to lead new initiatives across our teams and the wider organisation.

Hours of work - 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Position - Permanent
Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
