Dicker Data is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Commercial team. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, with the energy, and insight to identify new opportunities and partner effectively with senior decision-makers in major accounts.

This Christchurch-based position requires travel to engage with customers across the South Island with a key emphasis on promoting Dicker Data's product range and growing sales through face-to-face engagement and account management with reseller principals and sales staff.

Job Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Visit, manage, and develop the existing Reseller base, building relationships and understanding specific reseller needs.
  • Proactively seek and develop new business opportunities in existing and potential accounts.
  • Conduct Monthly and/or Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) with selected Partners.
  • Co-ordinate / Conduct presentations and training to provide product or technology information along with promoting Dicker Data's value proposition.
  • Follow vendor special pricing process ensuring that all claims can be processed to target.
  • Work as a team with your internal Account Managers, Brand Product Managers, and fellow BDMs in other regions on aligned Accounts.
  • Regularly meet and form strong relationships with all Supplier contacts.
  • Proactively distribute product information and pricing to customers, such as product releases, special promotions, product updates, and marketing activities.
  • Acquire and maintain Vendor Sales Certifications as and when directed
  • Attend Reseller and Vendor social and training events (may be outside normal working hours)

This position will suit someone with at least 5 years of experience as an Account Manager or BDM, preferably within the IT industry.

  • Ability to thrive under pressure and achieve sales targets
  • Proven track record of success in IT sales with proven account management abilities.
  • Strong personal credibility and professional reputation.
  • The ability to work and partner with customers at C-Suite level.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Consistent record of achievement of personal business targets.
  • Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously with strong multitasking skills
  • Proficient in IT tools, including Excel and PowerPoint.
